How to attach a two drawer panel

Overview

With a range of styles and colours to choose from, drawer panels are a good way to refresh the look of one of the most important rooms in your house. When attaching the drawer panels, it's important to read the instructions and follow them carefully. The instructions and the fixings come in the box with the panels but if you lose the instructions you can download them from the Kaboodle website.

Steps

1Remove top drawer

To make attaching the front panel to the bottom drawer easier, remove the top drawer. You can do this easily by sliding it out and pushing up the black clip on the drawer runners. This will allow it to be pulled out. Once you've removed the drawer, put it to one side.

2Attach the first drawer panel.

Place the bottom panel against the cabinet and try to get it as level as you can with the bottom of the cabinet and even between the two sides. Once it's in the right position, clamp it in place. Adjust it so that it's even on both sides and at the top and bottom. Drill four holes, two on the left hand side - top and bottom and two on the right hand side - top and bottom making sure you don't drill through the panel drawer. Attach the drawer with your drill and screws, close the drawer and remove the clamps

3Attach the second drawer

Slide the second drawer back onto its runners. Place the two, one dollar coins on the left and right hand side on the top of the bottom drawer, these are your spacers. Place the top drawer on top of the coins and measure that it's even with the bottom drawer. Clamp the drawer to the top rail and use a rubber mallet to gently tap it into place and make sure that it's in line with the bottom drawer. Drill four holes, two on the left side - top and bottom and two on the right side – top and bottom, making sure you don't drill through the panel. Attach the panel to the cabinet using your drill and screws. Then remove the clamps and the coins.
