“The colours are divine – everything they have selected is off-the-charts amazing,” said Shaynna Blaze.
With warm timber cabinetry and crisp white splashbacks, Emma and Ben created a kitchen that was not only stylish, but cosy.
It was a big week for Emma and Ben, who not only created a stunning kitchen, but also reworked their living and dining space after some harsh feedback from the judges, warming up the colour palette with a wall painted to match their new cabinetry and repositioning the furniture.
The finished kitchen exuded a warm and cosy vibe, with dark timber cabinetry paired with white splashbacks, marble benchtop and sleek black appliances for a contemporary take on a classic style.
“It’s very homey,” said Emma, explaining the thinking behind her design. “I think our kitchen is warm and cosy and suits the house.”
Darren Palmer agreed. “This is a beautiful colour palette,” he said. “And there’s a nice scale to it. This whole space feels as one.”
As befitting a luxury kitchen, the couple didn’t skimp on the appliances, including two 60cm ovens, built-in coffee maker, side-by-side wine fridges, and even a blast chiller, which can chill a bottle of wine in a few seconds.
Be careful with the placement of the fridge in the kitchen. As one of the most-used appliances, it needs to be opened frequently, and the doors shouldn’t be in the way of a passageway in the house.
The paint colour that Emma and Ben used in their kitchen was ‘White Comfort’ by British Paints.
