Week 4: Britt and Taz

The room: Main bedroom and walk in robe

Cash spent: $15,074 (Budget: $15,000)

Score: 29/30 (first place)

“This can't be faulted – it's the right rug on the right carpet,” said Marty Fox. “So inviting. It makes you want to move right in.”

A stylish bedroom featuring a large bed with multiple pillows and a beige color palette. A wooden bench sits at the foot of the bed. To the left, there’s a cozy seating area with a brown sofa, cushions, and two small tables. Large windows with sheer white curtains let in natural light. The walls are decorated with artwork and lighting fixtures.

A pared-back palette with touches of rich gold helped Britt and Taz to a win with a creamy, dreamy main bedroom design for The Block.

WA couple Britt and Taz created a creamy, dreamy master bedroom and walk-in robe. They changed the floorplan to extend the dividing wall between the two spaces and reorientated the bed to look at the view. This also enabled them to add in an extra entrance to the wardrobe, with an arched doorway to complement the bedhead.

The couple’s theme was modern organic luxury, and it was achieved through a soft, creamy palette layered with textural elements, such as gold wallpaper and a custom-made curvaceous bedhead in a luxurious golden velvet.

Shaynna praised the bedhead, calling it stunning, adding that the bedroom was rich in texture, rather than colour, which stopped it from being boring.

The elegant walk-in robe with island bench was highly praised by judge Darren Palmer, who said it was elevated and sophisticated. He loved the neutral palette with the gold that continued into the wardrobe.

"Gorgeous!” he said. “This is Goldilocks. All the storage you could want – the right amount of drawers, the right amount of wardrobe.”

A modern walk-in wardrobe featuring full-height white cabinetry with large handles, a central white island bench, a decorative chandelier above, and neutral-toned walls and flooring.

What colour paint did they use?

The paint that Britt and Taz used in their main bedroom and walk-in robe was Ceiling White by British Paints.
