On one face of each hardwood stake, mark a centrepoint 100mm down from the tip, then at 300mm and 500mm. Hammer in a 30mm x 2mm galvanised flat head nail at each mark.
Using artist’s acrylics and round craft dabbing sponges, apply a black circle to ping-pong balls and leave to dry, then apply a slightly smaller blue circle on top; let dry. Use small artist’s brushes to paint a black pupil on eyes, then a white dot highlight and red veins; let dry.
