Safety tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, ear muffs and a mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment.

Steps

1Loop the ties

On the 100mm ring, create a loop by inserting the pointed end of a 200mm cable tie through the head and pulling it tight. Continue around the ring with the ties sitting snugly against each other.

2Alternate the ties

On the 150mm and 250mm rings, alternate between attaching 200mm and 300mm cable ties, pulling them tight and sitting snugly as before.

3Apply the paint

Working on a drop sheet and holding the can about 300mm from the surface, use a side-to-side motion to apply several light coats of spray paint to the starbursts and wall hooks until the desired coverage is achieved; leave to dry after each coat.

4Hang the starbursts

Position the starbursts on your wall and, when happy with the formation, mark the locations on the inside tops of the rings with pencil. Attach using the removable wall hooks.

5Keep in mind...

  • For spray-painting, wear eye protection, a mask and gloves and work outside or in a well-ventilated area, covering surrounding areas with a drop sheet to avoid overspray. Paint colours may vary on application.
  • When hanging the stars, make sure you use fixings/fasteners appropriate for your type of wall and for the weight of the stars.
