Cemix Bituproof Plus is a bitumen waterproofing membrane, designed for use on a variety of surfaces in positive pressure applications. For exterior, below ground use only.
Cemix Bituproof Plus is a water-based liquid waterproofing membrane manufactured from a rubberized bitumen emulsion that it is ready to be cold-applied. Cemix Bituproof Plus is not UV stable and so is only to be used for exterior, below ground uses such below ground concrete and masonry foundation basement and retaining walls, and timber and aluminium posts. When applied by a trained professional, Cemix Bitupoof Plus forms an elastic, continuous film that is durable since it is not affected by alkaline or acidic conditions or chlorides and sulphates.
In conjunction with a dry or damp substrate (not wet) that is structurally sound, securely fastened and properly supported to eliminate any movement that may cause cracking. For exterior, below ground use only. Cemix Bituproof Plus should not be applied where the RH > 85% or where rain is expected within 48 hours of application.
When used in building work, the Cemix Bituproof Plus will contribute to building code compliance of the building work. E2 (external moisture), applicable performance criteria. This has been established through testing to ASTM D2939 – Standard Test Methods for Emulsified Bitumen Used as Protective Coatings. B2 (Durability), B2.3.1(a) Bitumen based waterproofing products have a lengthy in-service history in NZ. F2 (Hazardous Building Materials), F2.3.1. Cemix Bituproof Plus is non-flammable and does not release volatile gases.
