Silktrim profiles are manufactured from HMR (high moisture resistant) MDF which is a reconstituted wood product made from sustainably sourced Rubber Wood and resins with a E0 rating for Formaldehyde emissions. All mouldings are supplied with two coats of acrylic primer which are buffed to provide a silky-smooth surface ready for top-coat paint application. While Silktrim offers high moisture resistance the warranty does not cover applications in high moisture areas such as bathrooms, spas, saunas and laundries; in exterior applications such as carports or joinery; in areas subject to high temperatures, when in direct contact with concrete or masonry surfaces without damp proof membrane or in residences using sub-floor heating.
