A test opening is a fitting that is added to a pipeline with a removable cover/cap - the size must be large enough to fit a hydro-static testing plug. It is considered a different fitting to a simple inspection opening for this reason. This fitting has F&F connections, one with male thread to allow for a threaded cap to be added. Commonly referred to as a 27A.
