A portable BBQ sitting on picnic blanket with spatula and tongs sitting on a serving platter with freshly cut limes and an esky containing two bottles of drinks
It's easy to see why glamping has taken off, but it's the soaring cost of luxury adventure experiences that's hard to get on-board with. If you want to camp in comfort here's how to unwind in nature on a stylish shoestring.

Tent outdoors at sunset

'A' for accommodation

Start by setting up your area: You can use an A-frame tent, a bell tent, even a rooftop tent. It's worth investing in a spacious, stylish gazebo so you can create a lush sheltered sitting area. Add some swish Moroccan style outdoor cushions, they're beautifully designed and durable.

Location, location, location

Carefully consider where to set up camp. You can be in the middle of nowhere with no one in sight, but if there are no services on site, the serenity might not be worth it. Choose your preference, utter peace or a few people nearby.

Two lit candles on a timber deck

Keep the bugs at bay

After exploring your surroundings and before winding down for the day don't forget to pop on some insect repellent. You can also protect your space and propel insects in a stylish and efficient way with citronella candles. For a more heavy-duty option check out our range of bug zappers.

Empty hammock in a back yard

Beauty sleep bliss

Sleep is important and shouldn't have to be comprised when camping. If sleeping bags aren't your thing, you can cover up with your duvet from home and along with your favourite throws and cushions to curl up in comfort. Place a rug on the floor so you step out of bed onto soft carpet-like flooring. For lazy afternoons, chill in your own lush hammock.

Glamping for the gourmet

Forget the idea of tinned food or dry granola bars. With a portable bbq you can easily make gourmet, warming one-pot meals like paella, orzo and israeli couscous that are fast and fancy. Don't forget a picnic rug and remember delicious dinners, rich cheeses and chilled refreshments rely on a decent esky and ice packs, too.

Set up dining areas with a folding table and comfortable chairs so there's no awkward balancing of dinner plates and so you can sit back and relax at night. Dress the space with candles and hanging lanterns. If you want more you could even set up solar lights and a bluetooth speaker with your own powerpack.

D.I.Y. glamping is all about bringing a bit of luxury into nature and it's well worth the investment when you can live it up all summer long.
