How to make a festive wreath

This easy kids D.I.Y. will show you how to make a super fun and colourful felt wreath to brighten up your room! It’s affordable, customisable and interactive for all kids to enjoy.
Safety tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, ear muffs and a mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment.

Steps
Cut the felt
This D.I.Y. is a super fun decoration to do for a children’s birthday party, some room decor ideas or you can think up different colour combinations to match the seasons and so much more! Once you’ve picked the felt colours that match your imagination, it’s time to cut them into strips. Make sure they’re about 15 cm in length and approximately two cm in width. You can have a play around with the measurements for a different end result.
Tip: Layer a few sheets of felt together when cutting to speed up the process!
Tie strips to wreath frame
Next up, take your wire or wooden wreath frame and start double-knotting your felt strips onto it. Keep going until your wreath is full enough for your liking. Mix up the colours or go for a pattern by tying a few strips of one colour before switching to another!
Add decorations
Okay, are you ready for the fun part? It’s time to decorate your wreath! To get you feeling creative, a few decoration ideas are beads, buttons, ribbons, sequins, pipe cleaners, pompoms and anything else that you feel will make your wreath look extra special. Have a go at stringing a few beads together, tying ribbons into bows and using your bendy pipe cleaners to make fun shapes to glue on.
Add bow hanger
Once you’re happy with your beautiful wreath, it’s time to create a loop so that you can hang it up. Cut a looong length of ribbon, at least 50 cm - you can always trim the ends afterwards. Thread the ribbon through the top of your wreath leaving a loop before tying it into a bow. Make sure to double-knot the bow and pull it extra tight so it’s nice and strong. Now it’s ready to hang up, it’s definitely going to brighten up any room you put it in!
