Overview

Great for extra storage in your office, kitchen or laundry, we'll show you how easy it is to build a three drawer, floor cupboard.

Steps

1Unpack the kit and read the instructions

Unpack the kit that contains the three-drawer, floor cupboard and sort out all of the panels, rails, feet and hardware. Read the instructions carefully and refer to them regularly as you put the cupboard together. To protect the cupboard as you build it, use the cardboard box the kit came in, as a floor covering.

2Insert the pins into the side panel

The side panel has pre-drilled holes along the sides. The large ones are for the pins and the smaller ones are for the drawer runners. Insert the nine pins loosely into the larger holes and then tighten them with the cordless drill.

3Insert the cam locks into the base panel

The silver cam locks are used to join the side panel to the base panel. Insert the six cam locks into the large holes in the base panel. Make sure that the arrows on the cam locks are pointing away from the panel, this way the pins can be inserted into the locks and the cams tightened.

4Attach the base to the side panel

Insert the pints into the pre-drilled holes on the edges of the base panel. Make sure that the laminated, white edge of the base panel is facing outwards and the cam locks are facing down. Place the base panel on top of the pins on the side panel. Tighten the three cam locks, with the pins in them, to secure the two panels.

9Insert the adjustable legs

After the bases are attached to the cupboard, insert the adjustable parts of the legs into them. The first part clicks into the base and the second part screws into this. Repeat this for all four legs. The feet need to be 145mm high. Do this by setting the set-square to this height and adjusting the legs until they are all the same level.

10Install the drawer runners

Turn the cupboard over so that it stands on its feet. There are pre-drilled holes in the side of the cupboard for the drawer runners. If you are unsure where each drawer runner goes, refer to your instructions. Use the cordless drill and fixing screws to attach the runners. 13Attach the drawer front to the drawer

You may need to remove the cap over the brackets at the front of the drawer to access the screws. After removing the cap, loosen the screw holding the bracket to the drawer until the bracket comes free. Repeat this for the bracket on the other side of the drawer. Attach these brackets on the back of the front of the drawer. Now line the bracket up with the drawer and slide it back into place. Secure it by tightening the screws on the bracket. Repeat this process for the two other drawers.

14Attach the rail to the larger drawer

Look for the pre-drilled holes at the back of the front panel and back of the back panel. Use the cordless drill to attach the plastic brackets in the appropriate places. Slide the sleeve over the rail, this will cover the screw and the fitting at the front of the drawer. Click the back of the rail into the rear bracket. Then place the front of the rail into the plastic groove in the bracket and slide the sleeve over it. Repeat this process for the other rail.

15Attach the handles to the drawers

Slide the three drawers into the cupboard. Measure approximately where the handle will be attached to the drawer and put masking tape on that spot on both sides of the drawer. The tape will stop the laminate from splitting when you drill the holes. Make accurate measurements on the masking tape where you will be drilling - these measurements are in the instructions. Drill two holes and remove the masking tape. Use a screwdriver to attach the handle. Repeat this process for the handles on the two other drawers.
