Philips Hue smart lights on a warm white setting in a dinning room
Philips Hue lights allow you to light your home your way, creating the mood and atmosphere you want.

Mood lighting

Our homes are multifunctional spaces, where we work and play, entertain and relax. With the Philips Hue range of smart LED bulbs, you can play with lumens (brightness), kelvins (visual temperature) and colour to get exactly the right mood for the room.

Shades of white

Finding the right white light – neither too creamy nor too bright – is a tough job made easy with Philips Hue. The Philips Hue White range of bulbs provides a soft, warm light that works in every room. With wireless dimming, you can adjust it to suit any occasion. For even more control, the Philips Hue White Ambiance range offers 50,000 shades of (dimmable) white, from bright dawn to sunset tones. Amp up the warmth to create a convivial atmosphere. For task lighting, a brighter and cooler white is what you need – it better illuminate your work and a cooler, daylight tone also helps aid concentration.

Colour theory

Colours create moods. Warm and fiery colours are stimulating, ideal for conversation zones, while cool colours like blue and green evoke calmness and serenity. With the Philips Hue White and Colour Ambiance range, you can instantly change your home’s colour scheme, choosing from more than 16 million colours. Bathe the entire room in colour, or use splashes of colour to surprise and delight. You can also synchronise your Philips Hue lights to your Spotify account – the lights will pulse and colour change with the music! Plus, you can still enjoy the full range of whites at a new, higher range of 1600 lumens (equivalent to a 100W bulb).

Get smart

Harnessing the power of Philips Hue smart lighting is easy. Plug the bulbs into your existing light fittings, connect via Bluetooth, then use the app to play with up to 10 bulbs. Or add the Philips Hue Bridge to unlock the full experience. This allows you to connect up to 50 bulbs, schedule lights for home or away, and use pre-set scenes that are either created by Philips lighting designers or that you can customise yourself. You can use voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Home Kit.

Health & Safety

Please make sure you use all equipment appropriately and safely when following the advice in these D.I.Y. videos. You need to be familiar with how to use equipment safely and follow the instructions that came with the equipment. If you are unsure, you may feel it is safest to consult an expert, such as the manufacturer or an expert Bunnings Team Member.

Grave health hazards are linked to asbestos, which may be in homes built up to 1990. Health hazards may result from exposure to lead-based paints in older materials and copper chromium arsenic (CCA) treated timber. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer. You can also use a simple test kit from Bunnings to indicate the presence of lead-based paint.
