Bring light to the dark

Summer is peak period for portable power. We might be making the most of long summer evenings to tackle D.I.Y. projects. We could be illuminating a campsite or setting up a tent after sundown. Perhaps we need to generate a little emergency power during summer storms, blackouts or bushfire emergencies.

Don’t forget preparedness for summer road trips, where light can come in handy if anything goes awry, while waiting for roadside assistance or fixing a flat. And then there’s all those electronic Christmas gifts that come without batteries.

Summer is definitely the time to have solutions at hand, from reliable, powerful torches to lightweight, hands-free headlights, and an ample supply of spare, long-lasting batteries.

Power player

Energizer is your one-stop brand for durable, powerful and affordable lights and batteries, from headlights to lanterns to water-resistant, shockproof LED torches. The new Energizer Dolphin Compact Lantern, for example, is a portable and powerful product that comes in handy in a wide range of outdoor and recreational activities. It’s tough, weatherproof and floats in water. Energizer even has late-night camping readers covered with a handy clip-on book light!

You can rely on Energizer for a reliable emergency supply of batteries. Power seal technology means the alkaline Max Plus range can be stored on the shelf for more than a decade without losing power, so you're always ready with backups. (You never know when you’ll need spare batteries, but you know you always will!)

Energizer batteries and lights are great for:

  • Storm season preparation
  • Changing smoke alarms
  • Upgrading security
  • Fire season preparation
  • Outdoor trips and recreation
  • Managing during blackouts

Health & Safety

Please make sure you use all equipment appropriately and safely when following the advice in these D.I.Y. videos. You need to be familiar with how to use equipment safely and follow the instructions that came with the equipment. If you are unsure, you may feel it is safest to consult an expert, such as the manufacturer or an expert Bunnings Team Member.

Grave health hazards are linked to asbestos, which may be in homes built up to 1990. Health hazards may result from exposure to lead-based paints in older materials and copper chromium arsenic (CCA) treated timber. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer. You can also use a simple test kit from Bunnings to indicate the presence of lead-based paint.
