How to remove a door
Overview
Removing a door is an easy job that you can do with a few basic tools. We’ll show you some basic techniques to help the project go smoothly. You’ll see how to unscrew the hinges and keep the door stable while you are working. We also show you what to do when a hinge has been painted into place.

Steps
Prop the door open
Fold up your piece of cardboard. Slide it under the far end of the door to prop it open. This will stop the door from swinging on its hinges while you work. It also stops the door from tipping once all of its hinges have been unscrewed.
Unscrew the hinges from the doorframe
Hinges have two faceplates, one is screwed on to the door and the other is screwed on to the doorframe. Unscrew the hinges from the frame first, rather than the door to make it easier. If a hinge is stuck to the frame by a coat of paint, run a sharp blade around the plate to cut it free.
