We’re excited to announce the 2024 recipients of Bunnings Rugby Assist!

Each club will receive $30,000 to build on how they serve their rugby community - helping them improve, upgrade or renovate to enhance the support they provide throughout the season.

This year marks a milestone for Bunnings Rugby Assist as we commit another $300k worth of products and materials, which will equate to over a million dollars in contribution to the local rugby club community.

We’re looking forward to connecting and working closely with the latest Bunnings Rugby Assist recipients, local trades and our team to bring each project to life.

What is Bunnings Rugby Assist?

Bunnings Rugby Assist is an annual program designed, in partnership with New Zealand Rugby, to help community rugby clubs upgrade facilities that are vital to their operation.

Since its first year, Bunnings Rugby Assist has supported 40 clubs with a share of $900,000 to upgrade their facilities.

Achieving change requires commitment from many and as a proud partner of provincial and community rugby in New Zealand, it’s just a small way that Bunnings can lend a hand to the communities in which we operate.

Since 2021, Bunnings Warehouse has been the primary partner and naming rights sponsor of the Bunnings National Provincial Championship (NPC), Farah Palmer Cup (FPC), Bunnings Heartland Championships.

Bunnings Local Rugby Fund

The Local Rugby Fund provides local rugby clubs with Bunnings products and materials to help with club maintenance.

Each club across Aotearoa can redeem a $250 Bunnings gift card from their local Bunnings store until June 30, 2025.

How do you redeem your Bunnings gift card?

Requests for a $250 Bunnings gift card can be made in writing on a registered local rugby club’s official letterhead, and sent to your nearest Bunnings store, to the attention of the Activities Organiser.The Activities Organiser will arrange a date for a club representative to meet at the Bunnings store to introduce themselves and handover the gift card. Our preference at Bunnings is to support local community groups by providing hands-on assistance with their projects. Wherever possible, our teams take the opportunity to get out into the community and help with grassroots projects, providing D.I.Y. support. We also regularly donate products for community activities including raffles and fundraising events. If your club is needing hands-on assistance with a project, please speak to the Activities Organiser to see what support is available. If you don’t have a Bunnings Warehouse store local to your club, you can apply for an e-gift card from the closest Bunnings store.
