A beautiful dwarf form of the popular Kowhai tree, which was originally found growing on Stephen's Island in the Marlborough Sounds. Dragons Gold produces masses of beautiful golden yellow, tubular flowers amongst fern-like foliage, over a long period in late winter and early spring. The flowers provide luscious nectar for the native Tui and Kereru. It was also used extensively by Maoris in traditional medicine.
