Alocasia, also known as The "Elephant's Ear'' is a hybrid that has become an ornamental house plant. Its large, rounded leaves are a deep green with dark purple underside. Their araceous flowers grow at the end of a short stalk but are not conspicuous, often hidden behind the leaf petioles.
