Project Overview

Find out you how easy it is to install a stainless steel splashback in your kitchen. We’ll show you how to prepare the surface and apply the right amount of silicone to stick it to the wall. You’ll also see an easy way to hold the splashback in place while it sets.
Continue to step-by-step instructions

Step by Step Instructions

1 Prepare to install the stainless steel splashback
2 Install the stainless steel splashback
  • Step 1. Prepare to install the stainless steel splashback

Make sure the splashback is the right width for your cooktop. If you need to install it onto tiles, check that the tiles are level and set at the same height as your splashback. Now remove the protective covering and apply beads of silicone every 100mm along the back of the splashback.
  • Step 2. Install the stainless steel splashback

Position the splashback on the wall. In this case, we are hooking the top lip of our splashback over the top of the tiles. Then wedge some packers under the base of the splashback to hold it tightly against the wall while the silicone dries. Finish the job by wiping the surface clean with a rag.
