A simple tip for easier drilling

A magnetic nut setter tip attaches the screw to your drill magnetically, so you don’t have to hold it while you drill. It’s like having a second pair of hands to hold the screw in place.

Step by Step Instructions

1 Unpack and sort the components
2 Attach the side and back panels
3 Attach the middle shelf
4 Attach the second side panel
5 Attach the base and top panels
6 Attach the legs to the pantry
7 Attach the front panel
8 Position the pantry cabinet and install shelves
  • Step 1. Unpack and sort the components

Once you’ve unpacked your Kaboodle blind corner pantry kit, lay all of the pantry pieces and fixings out.  You can make sure that you’ve got everything you need, work out what each component does and find everything easily.
  • Step 2. Attach the side and back panels

Stand the back panel upright but get someone to help you hold the other end. Then lay the side panel flush with the edge of the back panel, so that it’s an L shape and line up the pre-drilled holes. To give the side panel extra support, place the middle shelf in position underneath it. To join the two panels, drill in the the screws at the top and the bottom of the side panel, and into the back panel. Then go to the middle pre-drilled hole and drill in a screw, making sure the two panels are flush. Then drill the rest of the screws in.
  • Step 3. Attach the middle shelf

After you’ve joined the back and side panels, attach the middle shelf. Line the shelf up with the pre-drilled holes and drill in the three screws. There are also three pre-drilled holes at the back of the cupboard to secure the middle shelf. The middle shelf gives the pantry stability, so that you can turn it over and attach the next panel.
  • Step 4. Attach the second side panel

After securing the middle shelf, turn it over so that you can attach the second side panel. Lie the panel flush to the back panel so that it forms an L shape. Drill in the top screws and work your way down, drilling the screws as you go. Once the second panel is in place, you can fix the centre shelf in using the 50mm screws.

  • Step 5. Attach the base and top panels

The easiest way to work out which end of the pantry to attach the base panel to, is to know that the fixed shelf is closer to the bottom of the pantry. The base panel can be identified because it’s the one that has small pre-drilled holes for the legs. Drill the screws into the pre-drilled holes to attach the base panel to the sides. After you’ve attached the base, secure the top panel in place, also using the 50mm screws.

  • Step 6. Attach the legs to the pantry

The pantry legs have four parts – the base, the extension arms and the feet. Join the extension arms by screwing them together and attach the foot. Tap the foot gently on a hard surface to secure it. Put this into the base to complete the foot. You want the leg height to be 145mm, which is the height of a kick-rail. Place your leg on a pantry panel and using your set square, wind the leg up and down to reach 145mm. Repeat this to put the other feet together. Pull the extension arm and feet from the bases so that you can attach the bases to the base panel, using the 28mm screws. Then re-insert the extension arms and feet back into their base.

  • Step 7. Attach the front panel

There are specialist connector pins and cams in the pantry kit to connect the front panel. Read the instructions to work out which fixing to use. Drill all of the connector pins into the holes in the middle, top and bottom on the inside of the panel. Insert the cams into the holes running along the top, bottom and side of the pantry. There are arrows in the cams to show you which way they go in. Turn the front panel over and line the connector pins up, so that they slot into the holes. Once the panel is in, use a drill to turn all of the cams and secure the connectors.
  • Step 8. Position the pantry cabinet and install shelves

Once you’ve attached the front panel, ask someone to help you lift the blind corner pantry onto its feet. Be careful not to put too much weight on the feet as you move it into position. After you’ve placed your new pantry into its corner, all you need to put in now are they shelves. With the pre-drilled holes you can place them at any level you like.
