Step by Step Instructions

1 Prepare your shape
2 Create your shape
3 Decorate your bag tag
4 Make a hole to tie
5 Add the string
  • Step 1. Prepare your shape

First, get a piece of coloured felt to use as the base of your bag tag. Fold the felt in half and then in half again. Cut out the small rectangle of felt.

  • Step 2. Create your shape

Now, cut the corners off one end of the rectangular piece of felt to make a tag shape.

  • Step 3. Decorate your bag tag

Now, glue different decorations onto your bag tag to make it nice and colourful. You can even glue a piece of foam on it so you can write your name.

  • Step 4. Make a hole to tie

Once the glue is dry on your decorations, use a hole-punch to make a hole at the cropped end of your tag. Ask a parent to help if needed.

  • Step 5. Add the string

Cut a piece of string about 20cm long then fold it in half and push the folded end through the hole. Pull the loose ends through the loop and pull tight. Now your bag tag is ready to go!
