Project Overview

Get into the festive spirit with these fun reindeer antlers. The kids can have a lot of fun making them to wear on Christmas day.

Continue to step-by-step instructions

Step by Step Instructions

1 Attach pipe cleaners to your headband
2 Attach pipe cleaner sections
3 Wrap your antlers in tape
4 Decorate your antlers
5 Wrap the headband with pipe cleaners
6 Your antlers are ready to wear
  • Step 1. Attach pipe cleaners to your headband

Take two brown pipe cleaners and wrap them around the top of your headband. These will be your antlers, so space them apart evenly and wrap them around a few times so they stick out from the top.

  • Step 2. Attach pipe cleaner sections

Cut two more pipe cleaners into three sections each. Wrap these sections around the pipe cleaners on the headband. Space them apart a little unevenly to make the antler shape.

  • Step 3. Wrap your antlers in tape

Wrap masking tape around the pipe cleaners and your headband. It’s ok if it’s not wrapped too tightly around the pipe cleaners, this will add to the overall effect.

  • Step 4. Decorate your antlers

Paint the antlers with some gold paint. Then sprinkle gold and silver glitter over the top and leave them to dry on some newspaper.

  • Step 5. Wrap the headband with pipe cleaners

Once the antlers have dried, wrap some pipe cleaner around the sides of your head band. We used gold and brown for extra detail.

  • Step 6. Your antlers are ready to wear

And there you have it, your very own sparkling reindeer ears. Great fun to make and wear at Christmas time.
