Project Overview

Growing your own fruit and veg can be great fun, but you don’t want to share your crops with birds and pests. A bird scarer is an easy, environmentally friendly way to keep those unwanted visitors out of your garden so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Continue to Step-by-step instructions.

Step by Step Instructions

1 The prowling owl
2 The wind action owl
3 The hanging hawk
  • Step 1. The prowling owl

With its one metre wingspan and life-like flying motion, the prowling owl will help to keep other birds, pests and rodents away from your crops, fruit and vegetables.  Easy-to-assemble, lightweight and weather resistant, it can be moved anywhere you want in your garden.
  • Step 2. The wind action owl

The wind powered action owl is a full-size replica you can use to scare possums, pigeons and other birds. It has a rotating, bobbing head that moves even in a light breeze and reflective, piercing eyes that make it more life-like. Being portable, the owl can be used in boats, car parks, on rooftops, gardens or in trees.

  • Step 3. The hanging hawk

You can scare the pests away with this realistic hanging hawk. The 53cm wingspan makes it look like a hawk ready to pounce. They are easy to hang from a tree branch, pole or similar structure and it’s a good idea to move it around the garden for best results.
