Help stop the spread of germs and viruses*, including COVID-19, with Diggers Viro Surface Cleaner.

Health at home

Protecting against germs, bacteria and viruses has never been more important, and the task of cleaning, disinfecting and sanitising your home's surfaces is one of the first lines of defence. But not everyone understands the importance of – or difference between – the three processes.

Diggers Viro Surface Cleaner is a comprehensive and specialised three-in-one product that cleans, sanitises and disinfects. Easy to use and effective, it's proven to kill 99.99 per cent of germs and viruses*, including COVID-19.

Cleaning vs sanitising vs disinfecting

Viruses, such as COVID-19, can live on surfaces and eradicating them requires effective cleaning and disinfecting.

What is the distinction between the three processes? Although cleaning removes germs and impurities from surfaces, it doesn't necessarily kill disease-causing organisms.

Sanitisers are chemicals suitable for use on surfaces with which food for human consumption may come in contact, for the purposes of reducing pathogenic or food spoilage microorganisms to a sanitary level on such a surface. Disinfectants destroy bacteria and viruses.

It's important to read product labels on cleaning products to know which step in the process each product tackles. Diggers Viro Surface Cleaner takes care of all three in one handy product.

No harsh chemicals

Although Diggers Viro Surface Cleaner is a hospital-grade disinfectant, it contains no harsh chemicals or alcohols. Therefore, it does not require any PPE (personal protective equipment, such as masks or gloves) to use. Diggers Viro Surface Cleaner is a ready-to-use formula that can be used in food areas with no need for rinsing and is even readily biodegradable, so it's kinder on the environment.

Grave health hazards are linked to asbestos, which may be in homes built up to 1990. Health hazards may result from exposure to lead-based paints in older materials and copper chromium arsenic (CCA) treated timber. For information on the dangers of asbestos, lead-based paint and CCA treated timber and tips for dealing with these materials contact your local council's Environmental Health Officer. You can also use a simple test kit from Bunnings to indicate the presence of lead-based paint.
