Turn your cubby house into an ice-cream shop following these steps by Charlotte Burt. Swipe to see the transformation process.
Step 1: Head into your local Bunnings store for the following supplies:
Cubby House
British Paints (in colours Velvet Cream, Peachy Dream and Satellite)
Fairy lights
Step 2 : Install your cubby house as per the instructions. You will need a drill but everything else is provided.
Step 3 : Start painting!
Set your house on top of two planks of wood so you can paint the bottom easily. we used 'Peachy dream' for the roof, window sills and door, 'Velvet cream' for the exterior walls and 'Satellite' for the window/door frames. We think these colours would look great together no matter how you choose to use the paint.
Step 4 : Wrap fairy lights around the Cubby and decorate the surrounding outside using items from around your home.
For our ice creams we purchased a box of real ice cream cones and used bath bombs for the scoops. There are different options for play ice cream sets at various stores.
Step 5 :Start serving Ice-cream!

Step 1: Head into your local Bunnings store for the following supplies:
Cubby House Dulux Weathershield
4L Vivid White Semi Gloss Exterior Paint
Lytworx Solar Festoon Party Lights Warm White 20pk
Sylvan 3" Brass Warwick Pull
Delf 112mm Solid Brass Ships Bell
Step 2 : Unbox and put together Cubby following the instructions included. An electric drill will make this way faster!
Step 3 : Slap on the paint. Start by cutting in with a smaller brush and use a larger brush or roller to paint over the top.
You’ll need an outdoor paint for this (we used 2L Dulux weather shield) 2-3 coats will be needed.
Step 4 : Add accessories. We used the brass ship bell, door pull and added some solar power festoon lights all from Bunnings.
Step 5 : Hot tip - raid your Christmas box for any decorations! We used our door wreath and a tree decoration to add the final touches!
