Save Energy

.Save Energy
Climate change is a serious global challenge for the 21st century.

One aspect contributing to climate change is household energy consumption.

By reducing your energy use at home, your actions can have a positive impact on the environment and make a real difference …. and you’ll save money too!

Reduce the amount of power you use around the house

Appliances account for about 40% of a home’s energy use and most of this is wasted by leaving appliances running when they don’t need to. By turning off your appliances at the power point and switching to energy efficient products, your small actions will make a big difference.

Tips
  • Simply switching off a light can make a big impact on the amount of energy you use
  • Try switching to energy-saving compact fluorescent globes
  • Use timers and sensors around the home and garden to control when lights are on and off

A well insulated home provides year-round comfort; not only is it warmer in winter, it is also cooler in the summer. This means you save money on your heating bills when it’s cold and have a reduced need for air conditioning when it’s hot.
