 Flowers to Sow

Lift, divide and store overcrowded bulbs until next season. Dust with Yates Copper Oxychloride.  Control pests and diseases on roses and ornamentals with Yates Rose & Ornamental aerosol or Rose Gun RTU.
 Vegies to Sow
Sow seed into warm soils to ensure good germination. Germinate cucurbits into Pete pots to transplant later into the open ground. Continue to protect seedlings from fungal diseases with Yates Bravo. Reapply Yates Baysol as needed to young seedlings. It is more effective during wet spring periods.
 October Pruning
When you're sure that frosts have finished for the year, prune frost-damaged parts of plants. Prune back spring flowering shrubs to keep shape and size.
 Fertilising in October
Fertilise potted plants with Acticote Pots and Garden Beds. Repot if the roots are crowded.  Feed early ripening strawberries with Thrive Flower and Fruit.  Remove any diseased fruit immediately.
 October Projects

Mulch the root system of garden plants with your own compost or a good layer of organic based material such as newspaper, bark, straw or lawn clippings.
