 Vegies to Sow
Sprout potatoes in seed trays ready for planting. Cultivate any bare garden areas by turning the soil and leaving clods exposed to frosts to help with breakdown. Apply compost to improve soil structure. Dig in green crops. To help with their breakdown add lime or sulphate of ammonia.
 July Pruning
July is the major month for rose pruning. Take out weak and diseased wood, thin shoots and excessive growth.  Prune to an outside bud. Don't forget to spray roses with Lime sulphur after pruning to help rid of disease.
 Fertilising in July
